Feature article in The Daily News, June 8, 2010 Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services has received two grants totaling $30,000.
The H.W. Durham Foundation has provided a $15,000 grant to fund a program that will subsidize spay and neuter services to pet owners 55 years of age and older.
The “Pay What You Can” program will offer the surgical procedure to senior citizen’s pets on a donation basis with free services available to those who are most in need.
The Margarette J. Sather Animal Welfare Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Memphis has given $15,000 to help Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services cover the cost of surgeries of pets owned by low-income residents, along with a portion being used to alter community free-roaming cats.
The two grant-funded programs will be offered on a first-come, first-serve basis and will continue until the funding runs out.
Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing pet over-population through affordable spay and neuter services.
